I create art that comes from personal introspection of emotion and place.  My goal as an artist is to convey a message that humanity and nature are interconnected in ways that are often not seen. We are all uniquely fragile and Resilient, beautiful and complicated; this is the story of my art.

As I paint the image becomes an exploration of the individual spirit, often my very own, and almost always includes the interplay of our natural surroundings.  my work has a common thread throughout ~ simple beauty can be found in the least expected places, both within oneself and within the spaces and places that we exist and strive to coexist.

In offering commission pieces I am able to create a painting with the color palette that suits your home or office.

I paint images of women that invoke something within for myself and the viewer. Recognizing that our bodies are incredibly resilient and yet fragile I paint to discover this delicate balance through color and shape, light and dark, to elevate the female form. This is when I discover pieces of me that either were lost, never known or screaming to be released. You will find my color palettes to be broad; I am not an artist who stays with the very same colors time and time again. Instead, I ask myself as I approach a blank canvas, “what color am I feeling today?” My work is a true representation of my journey. Evolution is good, transformation is inevitable, and growth shall never cease.

Abstract paintings have hidden stories that lie between the layers. These stories carry messages that may be simple or complicated. Sometimes my approach in painting these pieces can be aggressive and loud while other times, soft and delicate. The layers may go deep with slivers of what lies underneath showing through. This is the message; the story. I find that as I spend time with an abstract work the messages are complex. There in lies the magic of abstract paintings, discovery.

Botanical and landscape paintings are both from the memories of past and hope for coming season bringing with it something new. Nature is constantly changing through life cycles, teaching us lessons of nurture, coexistence, and rebirth. I have always felt a connection with the outdoors, flower, plants and trees. Nature continues to teach me how to paint, how to use color and depth, how to see beyond the horizon.
